Introduction to Knitwear

 I decided for the next two weeks to pursue the route of textiles. I did this because not only do I enjoy the designing side of fashion, but also I am extremely interested in the making side and creating of the fabrics.

I've never actually done knitwear before so was looking forward to learning a new skill and developing my textiles knowledge further.

I was able to grasp the hang of using the knitting machine and the basic knitting process easily, when we then started to introduce more techniques such as the honeycomb and lace holes the process became slightly more difficult.

I'm looking forward to learning different skills within knitwear and hopefully improving on the ones that I have already learnt.

From what I have learnt so far I don't think that knitwear is the pathway that I want to choose at degree level but I’m interested to find out whether or not the more things I learn and develop will influence this decision.
