LDN Fashion Week

Faustine Steinmetz

This designer’s latest Spring Summer collection really is perfect to match my brief of Structure. Even though her heavy denim outfits looked ripped and ragged, they have been recycled from old jeans and jackets and then carefully rewoven and hand stitched using pleating to create the wonderful shapes of the garments. The structure of the collection is so beautifully detailed and precise but manages to come across to the audience as something completely different when first looking.

Christopher Raeburn

Christopher Raeburn caught my eye not because his work particularly fitted in with my brief but because I love his incorporation of sportswear in his collection. Lately I have found myself doing a similar thing and think that this might be one of the routes I go down later on. By looking at other designers work I am trying to find right ways of how to make sportswear look chic.

Another designer who has mastered this technique is Alexander Wang who made a large impression at New York Fashion Week for doing so.
