Fabrication and Colour Development

For the fabric samples I collected I chose a mixture of heavy and light fabrics. Prada tend to use a mixture of rich and poor fabrics together to create interesting designs and to play on how expensive the garments are. We chose fabrics such as silk, fur; leather and satin with cheaper fabrics like netting, organza, polyester and mesh. We wanted to include all sorts of sheer fabrics into our designs. This was because nuns are known for being innocent and pure and with these fabrics being included this would make the collection look more daring and corruptive. I wanted to match the colours with the designs that they were coloured in such as maroon reds, bottled greens, blacks and gold. We chose these colours as they relate to the Virgin Mary but we wanted to create a more deep and dark colour range.
